Laser cutting

Machining with laser beam (also referred to by the acronym LBM, from 'English Laser Beam Machining)

They are machines that use a laser beam as a heat source, the beam is focused on material in  process via lenses reaching power density greater than 1 MW⁄mm2
By interacting with the material being processed, the energy of the photons is absorbed locally by the same material causing a rapid increase in temperature, which leads to melting or boiling and then removing, without the mechanical contact with the material, the molten material by vaporization or ablation mechanisms.
This process turns out to be particularly suitable for working of alloys with high thermal resistance, carbides, fiber-reinforced composites, ceramics and stellite.
